TEST DRIVE FOR A DIFFERENCE – MG MOTOR SUPPORTS THE AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS

December 5, 2022

This December, MG Motor Australia is supporting one of Australia’s largest charities, the Australian Red Cross, to make every test drive count. As part of MG Motor’s Test Drive for a Difference, for test drives taken of an MG vehicle throughout December, MG Motor will donate $10.00 to the Australian Red Cross up to a maximum total of $40,000

Since 2018, the Test Drive for a Difference has been an annual occurrence for MG Motor Australia, with the initiative’s primary goal to raise vital funds for those who are experiencing loneliness or homelessness over the holiday season. Australians can test drive an MG vehicle from one of MG Motor’s 83 authorised dealerships nationwide to participate, making their test drive count this festive season.

Funds raised from 01 – 31 December, through national MG vehicle test drives, will support Australian Red Cross, with funds providing practical and personal support to young people who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness in the local community.

MG Motor Australia’s support for the Australian Red Cross commenced earlier in 2020 at the inaugural Show & Shine competition, where funds were raised by over 300 classic and modern MG owners across Australia in celebration of the brand’s rich heritage.

Peter Ciao, CEO, MG Motor Australia and New Zealand, said: “We are humbled to extend our relationship with the Australian Red Cross this year and help vulnerable Australians, particularly at a time of year that can be difficult for those most at-risk.”

“For many, the holiday season is a time to rejoice and celebrate. However, we are acutely aware that not all Australians are afforded that opportunity and our Test Drive for a Difference is helping encourage future MG owners to support the great work that Australian Red Cross is doing to combat homelessness on our streets.”

The Australian Red Cross’ mission is to build a better society by helping those who need it most, working to assist Australia’s vulnerable community members – no matter their circumstances.

“Our employees are proud to work for a company committed to community service and to provide a constant pipeline of support for people in need.”

“We’ve long admired the work of the Australian Red Cross in providing vital support for young people at risk of homelessness.” said Mr Ciao.

The funds raised by MG Motor’s community during December will help Australian Red Cross provide support services to help people facing hardship by creating effective pathways to gain knowledge and skills, access resources and services, and improve social connection and participation.
